This beautiful loom with moon etched detailing is a more ergonomic version of an ancient Japanese Marudai loom, used for making cording.  Our 8" table looms  have  been modernized with a  spinning device built into the top blank disk (called the mirror). The loom can be used for traditional marudai weaving without numerals or using the enclosed velcro chips you can attach your Kumhimo (Kumhimo disks not incuded with loom) . This allows Kumhimo braiders the option to use rotating stand while braiding or off the loom as a hand tool. Our small marudai looms accommodate our wooden Kumihimo Disks  sizes 4" - 5" (this includes the 4 1/2" limited edition disks). 
Theses looms are designed for working with beads, thin -medium threads.
The loom is designed with curved legs for easy portability, just remove the mirror (with attached Kumhimo), to turn the loom on its side to the side, and carry the loom  like a small hand clutch. 
The looms are made of  high quality sustainable hardwood using sturdy 3/16" thickness ,with a natural beeswax and oil finish.  These looms come in 3 wood choices - Maple, Oak or Cherry.
